This is a slightly different recipe than the ones I usually post, and it is not eaten. It’s made of natural ingredients and will improve your wellbeing, so it fully meets the criteria of the blog. This is an ayurvedic body scrub that was offered in small jars after treatments in One world ayurvedic to get rid of the massage oils. At 11.00-13.00am, it’s the perfect time for a bath followed by exfoliation with a light natural scrub that removes the dead skin cells and promotes detoxification. The particular scrub has such pure ingredients that you could literally eat it (but don’t actually do it) although you will be tempted by how wonderful it smells. You can also make some for your friends by putting them in small jars with a bow and give them as a gift. Store them in an airtight package for approximately 3 months. The authentic recipe uses mung beans, a kind of Indian lentil, but since it’s hard to find in Greece you can replace it with either green lentils or, even better with Himalayan salt for more intense exfoliation. Hibiscus leaves give it a light pink colour and can be purchased from herbal stores or from Amazon.
Ingredients for a jar like the one in the picture
-25gr dried Hibiscus leaves (roselle https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roselle_(plant))
-25gr of cinnamon powder
-300gr of mung beans or 200gr of Himalayan salt
-150gr of rice flour
-25gr of orange zest
Preparation
Stir all ingredients in a multi or food processor until they turn into a fine powder.
Use it like a regular scrub by hand-massaging your body on slightly damp skin and rinse with plenty of water and soap.
