I ve been long seeing these cauliflower steaks in social media posts and wanted to try them. Cauliflower belong in the cruciferous veg family and have numerous health benefits so its good to have them at least once a day. The only bad thing with cauliflower is its characteristic smell when boiled, which is for me a reason to eat less often as I would like to. Their oven baked version is not only more delicious but also free of the smell!
Ingredients for one cauliflower
-1 medium sized cauliflower, cut in the middle
– 4 tbs extra virgin olive oil
-1 tsp sweet paprika
– ½ tsp salt & pepper
-1 tsp soumac
-1 tsp onion salt or powder
-1 tsp soumac
-1 tsp turmeric
Cut the cauliflower in the middle in thick slices. Blend all the spices with the olive oil in a bowl. Soak the cauliflower steaks in the marinade for a couple of minutes and place on a greaseproof lined baking tray. Bake in the oven at 180C for 15mins or until golden brown.
