Happy September everyone!!! Did you all come back from vacations? I hope you had a great time and that you gained enough strength for the start of the new school year. I had a great time, those who follow me on Instagram must have seen that I went to Messenia, enjoyed baths, ate very well, slept a lot, read a lot and got a lot of energy from the sun to keep me happy during London’s autumn. So, I’m ready and full of strength for the new year. I don’t know about you, but I always think of September as a motivation for changes and renewals, due to the changing weather that is based on another mood. If you’ve been considering controlling your diet, now is the right time. There’s no better way to start healthy on the first day of the new (school) year than with a smoothie. This recipe combines the antioxidant properties of forest fruits and cocoa, with the good fat of cashews butter (you can replace it with peanut butter or almond paste or tahini) that is necessary for the absorption of all fat-soluble vitamins and some maca for extra strength and endurance, which you’ll need if you get back to work. And the flavour is just great: berries and cocoa are an unbeatable combination, so sweet and rich!
Ingredients for 2 glasses
– 1 cup of frozen forest berries (blueberries, cranberries, raspberries)
– 1 banana
– 2 spoons of raw cacao butter
– 1 tablespoon of cashew or almond butter (or any other nut butter, even tahini)
– 1 cup of almond milk
– 1 tsp of maca
– One date, pitted
Blend all the ingredients in the blender and serve.
