Isn’t it incredible how the day is longer, and the weather is warmer? To get into a summer mood I made a perfect refreshing homemade lemonade with matcha and basil. If you don’t have matcha, you can make the recipe and enjoy it like lemonade; you simply won’t get the infinite antioxidants and wakefulness matcha offers. It’s amazing how much basil fits into lemonade, giving it a wonderful scent! Apple juice is optional and will give extra sweetness. In addition, I recommend adding 4 tablespoons of maple syrup, and if you want it to be even sweeter. you increase the quantity. Serve on summer nights with lots of ice cubes and good friends on the balcony.
Ingredients (for 4 people)
6 large lemons – 5 for squeezing and 1 sliced for decoration
4-5 spoons of maple syrup (or agave, or honey, or stevia or any other natural sweetener you have)
2 handfuls of fresh basil
1 green apple
3 cups of water
½ tsp of matcha
Preparation
Squeeze lemons and apples in a juicer. Add the lemons with maple syrup, a handful of basil and matcha in a food processor and stir well. Put the lemon juice, apple juice, sliced lemon, the other handful of basil and ice in a large jug and enjoy.
