The sprinkle is a miraculous mixture of various nutritious foods with which you sprinkle salads, rice and quinoa, and reinforce their nutritional value and taste. The magical mixture includes nori seaweed (used in sushi), which is rich in iodine and promotes thyroid health (especially for those with hypothyroidism). Iodine is one of the most important trace elements and unfortunately is minimal in modern nutrition, so this blend is a very easy way to add more iodine into your life. It contains sumac, a spice with a sour taste that’s used in Lebanese cuisine and gives a delicious taste, white sesame, a good source of calcium, and thyme, which gives an earthy taste. Stir them altogether, seal in an airtight jar and sprinkle your salads or brown rice at all times, adding not only extra nutrients but also delicious ingredients. You can take it with you at work and add it to the salads you order. I also put it on some homemade crackers I make, I will post tomorrow their recipe.
Ingredients (for a small jar giving about 10 servings)
– 1 dried nori sheets that you have crushed with your hands in smaller pieces
– 1 spoon of sesame seeds
– ¼ tsp of fresh sea salt or Himalayan salt
– ½ tsp of sumac
– ½ tsp of dry thyme leaves
Preparation
Put all the ingredients in an airtight jar, close the lid and shake.
It’s maintained for 3 days in a dry place.
