I haven’t posted a smoothie for a while, I think. What a smoothie! This isn’t a smoothie, it’s salad in a cup. It’s not one of the sweet smokes I usually make, but of those that your body feels good when you drink it. How could it not when it has to do with so many vitamins and trace elements from the vegetables it contains: avocado, spinach, celery, lime. I’ve told you that celery is a very rich source of iron like spinach. I used celery as a decorative ingredient, but once I learned the iron content it has, my whole perspective changed! Vitamin C in lime juice helps our body absorb even more iron, since iron absorption from non-animal sources is lower but increases about 20 times when consumed together with vitamin C. So, don’t you dare skip the lime, there’s a reason why it exists in this recipe. With so much iron, I guarantee there’s not a more energizing and stimulating way to start your day! Don’t drink tea one hour before or an hour after this juice as tea tannins reduce the absorption of iron!
Ingredients for 1 glass
-1 avocado
-1 handful of spinach
– a few stalks of celery
– juice from 1 lime
-1 glass of coconut water or filtered water
– a couple of ice cubes
Preparation
– Put all the ingredients in the blender and whizz for a few minutes.
